    Huge fan here! I really like this series. I am a bento enthusiast and when I moved last summer, I made sure to keep most of my bento gear close at hand. Sadly, I did not do the same thing with the rest of my essential cooking items (still in storage) and have improvised for months. I missed having certain items a LOT, like saibashi (I just found my otoshibuta)! The nearest Daiso is over two hours away and I recently decided to make the long-overdue trip and the ONE DAY I pick to go they’re closing early for inventory! I had 17 minutes to fly through the store and get a few things; first item I threw in my cart were long chopsticks, hehe! Just used them again this morning to scramble eggs.

    I love learning about different cultures, especially through their cuisine. I look forward to the next video – keep up the great work! You have my respect and admiration ❤️

    Thanks for this video! I love Japanese products. Always so innovative. My fave at home is a multi-purpose product from Daiso that has a grater I use for ginger and garlic, a slicer, and a large grater section along with a zig-zag slicer at the end … all that for $1.50 and I’m gonna use it FOREVER ❤❤❤❤❤ My skimmer just broke so I definitely will purchase one hopefully at a Japanese store so it will last this time haha

    I love this new series! Thank you for sharing Nami. My favorite Japanese item in my kitchen is my pink silicone otoshibuta that has a pigs face on top. The snout of the pig has two holes, where your ohashi can fit into it. I love going to Daiso and looking at all of the kitchen gadgets. ☺️

    I love this new series, Nami-san! Have you seen these cute otoshibuta that are shaped like a pig? You put your hashi in the nostrils to remove the drop lid. Thanks for the video and have a great weekend!

    The crazy thing is that I’ve been to three different Asian markets in my city and none of them carry long cooking chopsticks. I can only buy regular, small chopsticks in big packs of like 10 or 20. I try not to order too much stuff online as I always want to support local shops.

    I went to Kappabashi on my last trip to Tokyo. I had seen the skimmer in your millefeuille soup video and the long chopsticks, otoshi buta and miso strainer in other ones.     Love the new series! I will admit, as a tea enthusiast (lupicia is my brand of choice) I was hoping you would tell us about your tea, any snacks you might have with it, too. 😊

    I like segment on kitchen tools though, and was happy to note I have a few of them already. Also, I am glad to see that the burn doesn’t seem to hsve been too severe.

    Nami, I live in a small apartment and already have a bunch of kitchen tools. I don’t want to buy new ones unless I know I will use them often and don’t already have another kitchen tool for the job. I like your five suggestions but am most interested in the chopsticks, Surikogi & Suribachi, and drop lid. Which size Surikogi & Suribachi do you use most often? Is it worth picking up two sizes? My guess would be larger is better. Also, for the drop lid, In the past, I have just used aluminum foil. Do you get a lot of use out of the stainless one? Out of all the cooking you do, which drop lid do you use most often wood, adjustable stainless, or aluminum foil? Thanks for your suggestions.
