Country Kitchen Decorating – Stove Board

In this video of Country Decorating Ideas, we have a Kitchen DIY project. I have wanted a Stove board for some time now. So instead of buying one I decided to make one. Pretty simple project that was very budget friendly.

This is a pretty good idea …hiding the stove top that can get pretty "ugly", and keeping it from getting scratched up…I would def put handles on each side for me for an easier way to move back and forth…Gives a great space to add more décor. I don’t think I would forget to move it when I needed to cook anything…good idea!

I have seen these done with a punched tin design ..which you can use roof flashing then draw your design of barn stars or hearts and use a hammer and a nail to punch the motif out then faux finish to look aged and seal …I live in a 300 year primitive  colonial farmhouse and now that I am tiring of my whole junk gypsy shabby chic decor ..I really love the primitive colonial period which is similar to primitive country decor …except more historic and simple..I love your channel !Thanks for the video

Handles would be a nice accent. The chance to add more decor to the kitchen is a plus.

It was an old color from Valspar but the name has faded off of the lable. It is like a barn red it was from my kitchen. Sorry I couldn’t find it.

i have heard of these boards before yrs ago. I think i will plan on making myself one. For me it will be great to extend the counter space when i have company and we are eating buffet style. i may even make it longer. There is about a foot between my oven and sink so i think i will make it longer to cover the three areas. As i am thinking about it, i will have to add some little feet on the part covering the oven..its a little lower than the counter. Love the decorating atop.

Maybe i will make 2. So i could decorate just the oven top. OH , listen to me…I am soo excited Michelle. I wish u had a decorating and craft show in which u would have to make an appearance with ideas everyday. lol…Maybe consider it? lol

I put chair pad circles on the bottom of mine so it doesn’t scratch my stove top and it slides nice.. ♥

Hey Michelle, love your channel! I was wondering if you could do a bathroom tour? I just recently painted my bath a country red color, and would love some ideas from your creative mind!!!

I think the jars would look great filled with various dried items. Good job on the stove board.

What shade colours did you use in the reds. Love that colour with the black.

    That is a great suggestion

I think I was thinking stenciling like one of the comments you received…that would really have sealed the edges of the board and made it truly special…still like the board though

I would of made it cover the whole top of the stove top and put some handles so it can be moved easily
