Beautiful! I am doing the same thing to my house. Our kitchen is so dark and outdated and all of the cabinets are Formica.OMGosh..these things are horrible. I can’t wait to get my house done!

  2. Linda Biddle on November 4, 2020 at 7:43 am

Hey there from your Sugar Hill neighbor. First, your kitchen turned out absolutely gorgeous. Second, I hope you all are doing safe with zero to minimal damage. It’s a quite nasty around here.

  4. Judy Steffen on November 4, 2020 at 7:45 am

That kitchen remodel was certainly a labor of love considering all of your efforts, especially with the hinge project! I love the countertops and commend you on the beautiful outcome. Congrats on your "new" home.

You are so resourceful in using your limited budget to bring new life into this kitchen! I especially love that you are not afraid to get in there and clean up the old cabinets, hardware and the stove. Keep up the great work.

  9. Elaine Howard on November 4, 2020 at 7:49 am

You and your husband should be extremely proud of yourselves. You worked as a team, you got a beautiful kitchen using old but good bones, new additions that you really wanted to add for long term usage, so should you change your kitchen in the future, you will be able to keep the new items you added today. I’m so impressed, you worked so hard together, for a common goal. You both deserve a huge pat on the back for a job SO well done. 💐💐💐for you 🍺🍺🍺for him xxxxxx

  10. Kelly Palma on November 4, 2020 at 7:50 am

  23. Jayne Brown on November 4, 2020 at 8:04 am

Yami … what a gorgeous transformation !! Love the addition of the island ! Once all the cabinets were white… you start noticing thing that didn’t show before. I love those little cabinet at the top! Great picture o the countertop too! I love that with white cabinets.

Now I know how to get my oven door clean ….take it ALL APART ! 👍 Mine is a wall over and the glass has “dust” on it between the two panels???? It drives me CRAZY when the sun is shinning full force in the afternoon…🤨🤨🤨

LOVE the dark flooring too! Everything is wonderful!

    Great job as always !!!

A huge transformation to your kitchen after all the hard work. Congratulations. Just wondering if you have a dining room as well as the island in the kitchen for family and guest meal times? Somewhere for larger gatherings? Just curious:-)

  29. Irene Papadimatos Georgatou on November 4, 2020 at 8:12 am

    Really nice great job!

  30. Karen Helm on November 4, 2020 at 8:15 am

Beautifully done… love butcher block, and the quartz combination. On your chairs , remove the spindles and have the Engineer, create the X and replace, then refinish. You know … yes you can have the look you want without spending a fortune…Just a thought…. seriously just a thought cause your kitchen is lovely. Maybe remove the hardware again ( cabinets) and paint the part that holds the doors white, leaving just the pulls black… I think visually would blend better, but again your kitchen is beautiful, really do not want to be one of those people. Blessings to you all! K

Maybe you already covered this but how often will you have to apply sealer or oil to your countertops?

  41. Rena Moore on November 4, 2020 at 8:27 am

Wow, wow, wow!!! This is simply beautiful. This looks like something that we see on HGTV, transformations. U, your husband & even your dad. I’m blowed away with the island. So happy for you guys. Now u can enjoy for the holidays. Great job😊

  42. Miriam Palanchi on November 4, 2020 at 8:27 am

Wow what a renovation! It looks 🤩. The only thing I would have done different is paint the cabinet door hinges the same as the cabinet paint so not to distract from the door pulls. Awesome job! BTW you have some MAD painting skills👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

  43. Bonnie64ful on November 4, 2020 at 8:30 am
