Hi Steve. At 3:36, I see you have blue tape around the perimeter of the peninsula. Did you cut the vinyl plank wood flooring around that or put the cabinets on top? I always worry about the floating floors buckling under heavy weight.

I pay $15,000 in order to renovate my kitchen. Which includes cabinets, all hardware plus the installer, not bad.

You go a steal with the appliances. I paid more than double that for my fridge, range, and dishwasher. I paid same with counter top and cabinets. How much would a reasonable contractor charge you for labor if you had to hire someone?

I think your old cabinets were beautiful and unique. I’ve never seen cabinets like that. Should’ve painted them and changed the hardware with new counters. I know it’s too late, lol. Awesome job though.

How much do you think it’ll cost to do that. We plan to add an island and nook. What’s a reasonable price someone would that all that for? Just trying to ask for advice.

they screwed you with those cheap cabinets for $5,200 i get them for $2,200, for a kitchen like that. same quality, size, shaker. those are the cheapest cabinets you can buy. I charge $5,300 to install kitchen cabinets

I paid 7k for my kitchen furniture and the granite. I got it made how I wanted. I remodel my living room bathroom and flooring for about 22k that’s including the kitchen expense and the labor. Thank god my brother do this type of job I believe I save a lot.
10k to 15k?? I need to see how much i budgetted for my kitchen in my apartment. It won’t cost that much because mine is a small kitchen. Just L shape.

I also just madeover our kitchen <3 New Countertop, cabinets painting, new drawer pulls, new pantry, new decoration, new look for the tiles, new kitchen sink… All under 400 Euros!
Although it’s far from perfect – ours is a rental one so there are a lot of things that we are not allowed to change, but we’re happy with what we have achieved, especially considering the low budget

For some reason I actually love the before cabinets. I really like the uniqueness of them. I wouldn’t taken them out for this house but in a funkier mid century modern or contemporary house they could really work. I hope you resalvaged them.

It’s a lot less costly to remodel homes in US by the look of it because your homes are built with more timber. In OZ most of our homes are built using double brick & concrete. It’s very costly to get renos done, sometimes even more than the cost of building new. It’s crazy. 🤣🤣 Great being able to use your own labour. Great job! 👌👍👊👏👏
