Consider something different as a window treatment.

In my older 1950’s ranch home with maple cabinets, I used my antique crock collection. I enjoyed it at the time but it made for a lot of additional cleaning. In this condo my cabinets go to the ceiling and it is just less work and maintenance overall. These days I am more into minimal. I do like your idea of spare "vignettes>"

I unfortunately have a soffit above my cabinets. I debate with myself all the time about putting something up there. I went so far as to buy a couple of tobacco baskets. You have convinced me to hang them and even put some greenery in them. Thank you. You are better then a therapist. HAHA!!! LOL

Very nice. I’ve found you almost always need boxes or something to raise things up out of the well of the cabinet. My sister has a lot of the same pottery up on hers. We actually take photos of her pottery and then her Christmas decor up there so she remembers how she put it up from year to year.

Such lovely ideas! As always, Molly puts a smile on my face. I was rooting along for her as she tried to retrieve her baby!

I loved what you did with the top of the cabinets. I have an all white kitchen. I collect the vintage fiestaware so I put the pitchers and teapots above the cabinets for color. Would you take it all down and then put back just a few pieces with greenry and other items. I treasure your opinion. Loved the video.

If the owner loves real plants, I think it would look nice to display that on the cabinet side(s) by the window.

I’ve been wondering about this, Jennifer. Thanks for addressing! I too remember the ivy & lots of knick knacks above my cabinets. This is beautiful, lots better! I’ve noticed several homes with nothing above the cabinets and that doesn’t look finished to me. Great ideas! Thanks!

I know that one day I will have to change out what I have on top of my cabinet’s so I am glad you did this video, but for right now I still love my collection of vintage glass cake stands. I also have them lit with LED soft string light’s. They just sparkle at night.

And another tip for above the cabinets – line them with wax paper. To clean, just throw the dirty wax paper away and reline with new.
