I would never use latex paint, it is not durable enough for cabinets and drawers. I like to use urethane enamel, it is as durable as oil but water-based so it is soap and water cleanup. It also has low VOC’s which is very important when painting interior. I do use sponge rollers when painting large areas but then go back with a brush to follow woodgrain, makes for a much nicer finish

  21. shantor100 on December 18, 2020 at 11:14 pm

Don’t wipe or swipe the paint up on the edges like she did or when you flip it over you will have drips or thick areas

  22. Janine Said on December 18, 2020 at 11:16 pm

Little hack: instead of spending all that money on the painting tripods, go to the dollar store and use plastic shot glasses to elevate your cupboards, works just as well!

One word of advice to people who want a really smooth finish without brush lines, use floetrol in your paint. Im doing this to my house rn as well.

  40. Mickela Clair on December 18, 2020 at 11:34 pm

What is the color of paint on the walls?

  41. Topaz Rogers on December 18, 2020 at 11:35 pm

I like this color of wood myself. I would have left them just like that. I don’t like white cabinets or light color cabinets because it makes you feel cold I think the brown wood shown in this video make the kitchen feel cozy. This is just my opinion and everybody’s got one. P.S. if you guys should read this I wanted to tell you in this area you have to the same exact videos posted.

    Can I spray paint?

  43. Stu Andrew on December 18, 2020 at 11:37 pm

I refinish cabinets for a living and this is HORRIBLE advice, for way to many reasons to get in it. But I will toss out the most important reason. Cabinets like these do not have brush strokes or roller texture prior to this horrible advice. If u spray the primer and lacquer (not paint) u increase the value of the home (as long as it’s applied properly). After doing what this girl is recommending, any good real estate agent representing a serious buyer would ask for a née kitchen or reduce the cost of the house so buyer can buy new kitchen. Because the cabinets are consider lower the low end after brushing and rolling. U should only brush and roll if the previous finish has been brush and rolled. Once that texture is there, good luck removing it.
    Horrible advice here

I would have painted the wall above cabinets white too, this would have elongated the cabinets and make them and ceiling look higher. Making over space feel bigger.
