I have two of those scrappers to clean cast iron pans and love them. I also have most of the other tools you all showed and love them in my kitchen.

  2. Bridget Salter on August 15, 2020 at 1:28 am

Ah the joys of being old with cateracts ….I never noticed a thing 😉
Hey you two and what was wrong with the 80s,I got married back then 💟👍
    Much enjoyed as always .

  3. Gayle McGee on August 15, 2020 at 1:31 am

Hi Flo, I have several of your kitchen gadgets. You’re only as good as the tools you use in any instance. I think the OXO brand has many awesome gadgets for the kitchen. I need to get better tongs though. Loved the video. I clean my pans the same way Dude does also.

  4. Fran Hawver on August 15, 2020 at 1:33 am

Great video! I feel better about all of my gadgets!
Your responses to viewer comments were great!! Your eye roll is on point!!

  5. W.D. McCracken on August 15, 2020 at 1:33 am

Why do you remove the carrots skin?

  6. Arizona74Frog on August 15, 2020 at 1:34 am

Thanks for sharing the gadgets, I’m definitely gonna look into the lodge scraper. Lol but I must say you made me laugh so much at the end I really needed a good laugh luv ya guys be blessed

  7. G. Cosper on August 15, 2020 at 1:38 am

My grandmother used stale bread to clean the box grater after using it for carrots when making salads she then fed it to the dogs or threw it to the birds.

  8. maureen bullock on August 15, 2020 at 1:38 am

I love my box grader…I clean it with my veggie brush…😎

  9. James Goacher on August 15, 2020 at 1:39 am

Best not to put oil and fat in the compost. This has probably been said already but I couldn’t find any comment so I am saying to you that No Oil or Fat in the compost.

  10. Janice Miersma on August 15, 2020 at 1:43 am

Really enjoyed the video. I have many of the tools you covered and totally agree that it is best to buy quality. It’s really much cheaper in the long run. Have had to learn that in nearly 50 years of marriage. BTW, when camping, try a pillowcase for a salad spinner. Not as a good as the OXO, but sort of fun.

  11. Denise Mcrary on August 15, 2020 at 1:43 am

Having the proper tools are key to everything you do. It makes what your doing easier and more enjoyable with great results. Love the video.

  12. Wannod's Place on August 15, 2020 at 1:45 am

After watching this vid im going to costco halifax today and picking up the oxo salad spinner.
Sorry Flo I’m not getting it through your site but when i want something i want it now, when possible hahaha.
Your on one coast and I’m on the other in Canader ahhh hehehe. We actually DON’T say ahhh down here

  13. Alice L on August 15, 2020 at 1:46 am

I am living in a temporary place until my leased unit is ready. Have to say, with all the things/spices I am missing, nth beats a dishwasher! Ultimate obstacle to start preparing my meals, is the thought of sink full of things, and a not so effective dish soap….

  14. Linda W on August 15, 2020 at 1:46 am

I’m same as you about the box grater! I only use the one side! I got ours along with the veggie peeler at IKEA back 2005 and it’s both still good. I’m surprised you didn’t add garlic press in your list in this video! I need to get me a sieve to wash rice. I lose grains of rice ALL THE TIME! 🤦🏻‍♀️

  15. Cindy W on August 15, 2020 at 1:47 am

I am pleased to say i own all of these lol. I love a good gadget. I will caution you on oxo lettuce spinner, in that they can get mould inside mechanism that spins in the handle or at least the one i used to have. You can only take it apart so far and then you have to live with mold. I have the tupperware one and it comes completely a part for washing. Great video dude!

  16. Sophie Bakall on August 15, 2020 at 1:47 am

I do the same thing with my rice and rinsing it using a sieve.. I will rinse and pour between the sieve and the rice cooker pot until the water is clear. What’s with all of the hateful comments? If they don’t like it, just click past it and onto something else. I will never understand why people feel the need to say something rude.

  17. Mike Loftus on August 15, 2020 at 1:48 am

I wonder is we can make Dudette as famous as Baba Booey

  18. JanTheNan on August 15, 2020 at 1:52 am

I’m eyeing up a rectangular over sink drainer/sieve.

  19. Mike S on August 15, 2020 at 1:53 am

You aren’t Dudette, you’re Flude! Anyway, around here, the sieve is called a wire mesh strainer. Dunno if you make polenta. Sift your cornmeal with it. I have a salad spinner, tongs, veggie peelers, a box grater (actually, it’s round), and a Microplane grater. One of my favorite gadgets is a veggie chopper with a pull cord (manual, not electric). I even make bread crumbs with it.

  20. Connie Pollock on August 15, 2020 at 1:53 am

I enjoy watching your videos even if they’re 1980’s quality. Haha! And you’ve convinced me to get a salad spinner! I love OXO products!

  21. Gabriel Frazee on August 15, 2020 at 1:54 am

My cast iron never leaves my stovetop, and that scraper is a life saver.

  22. pearlynx1 on August 15, 2020 at 1:54 am

Hi Flo, I love your videos! Can you recommend a reasonably priced, decent quality, brand of kitchen knives? Thanks!

  23. Lynardo K on August 15, 2020 at 1:54 am

This was great. I have several of your mentioned items and love them. Those box graters are brutal! May get the micro planers but I got The Oxo grater set with 4 sizes and finger guard that fits altogether into one side and the lid is the ‘bowl’ – Love it – check it out.

Love your videos! Always look forward to them whether it’s a food one or lifestyle milestones.
What is wrong with people? Please ignore the trolls. I love that you are as human & real as all of us!
    God Bless

  24. Colleen Beamer on August 15, 2020 at 1:56 am

This video came up after watching your latest video. A tip I found somewhere suggested that if you spray your grater with vegetable oil (using your Misto mister), it makes clean up easier.

  25. Paula Ogi on August 15, 2020 at 2:02 am

Hi Flo! I’ve learned so much from you! Look forward to your videos. I have an inexpensive Korean veggie peeler. The thing is SHARP & although it’s not meant for thin skinned veggies, it is BOMB for things like butternut squash! I bought 10 – so I’d love to send you one! Please lmk!

  26. Pam Owen on August 15, 2020 at 2:02 am

I love this channel Flo and Dude, would love to buy any gadget or cookers you recommend, and will soon. I think that if you are gay depending how many pairs of shoes you have is ludicrous!

  27. Alice Aman on August 15, 2020 at 2:03 am

Thanks for all your helpful info on gadgets. How about telling us how to store all these gadgets. I have a fairly large kitchen but with all my manual and electric gadgets and all their accessories, I am running out of space. Help! And I understand, maybe the answer is just to deal with it but would like to know if you have any tips on this subject since I bet your kitchen is packed (in a good way :).

  28. DudeLum on August 15, 2020 at 2:04 am

    Also, #youtubedown just ended. phew.

  29. Karrie Langston on August 15, 2020 at 2:04 am

Interesting ice cream scoop. It still looks like a ton of work. I went to a spade years ago. Works the best on rock solid ice cream.

  30. Able Aquariums on August 15, 2020 at 2:05 am

You used to have this large metal trivet with circular openings – where did you get that? Would love a link to buy!

  31. v mcmahan on August 15, 2020 at 2:06 am

Dude…..check out the cast iron chain mail scrubber on Amazon! I’ve been cooking with cast iron for more years than you’ve been alive. It’s amazing!!! I’m using my grandmother’s cast iron skillets and I’m 61. These things get all the stuck on bits but don’t bother the lovely cooked on patina. 🙂 Flo, I have and love so many of your fav’s! The OXO salad spinner is the best, and that OXO peeler was actually requested by one of my grandson’s because he was always tasked to do the peeling. Once he saw that it can be used in a back and forth motion for quick peeling he wanted it! LOL Don’t think you have to go in one direction! It’s fast and fantastic. I’ve had mine for at least 15 years now! You guys are the best!

  32. Izzy on August 15, 2020 at 2:06 am

Love my kitchen gadgets. Thanks for augmenting them. Upgraded to an Oxo stainless steel salad spinner great deal/BIG MISTAKE the plastic one spins much drier everytime, nice popcorn serving bowl. Please more comments at the end like these. Great laughs. I for one notice your great diction Flo. We American’s often have poor diction.

  33. Litha Belle on August 15, 2020 at 2:08 am

But it was that throwback video quality that made us order an instant pot via your link yesterday.

  34. JanTheNan on August 15, 2020 at 2:08 am

    That’s the one.

  35. Derek Armsden on August 15, 2020 at 2:09 am

What’s a salad spinner for? I’ve never washed lettuce, or any other salad ingredient, in my life. I’ve never even encountered anything that made me WISH I had washed my lettuce. What is in your lettuce that needs washing? Maybe we have cleaner lettuce here in Australia. I dunno. **Shrug**

  36. Paulla Wells on August 15, 2020 at 2:10 am

I didn’t mind the quality previously.

  37. Patrick Aherne on August 15, 2020 at 2:11 am

You know, poop on the haters! Dude, I’ve got a ton of shoes, running shoes, slip ons, dress shoes, work boots, hinting boots, cowboy boots, etc. Flo, your presentation just shows you’re not a rehearsed, fake person. You guys are both real people, with all of your foibles, and I love your videos. Keep up the good work!

  38. vickie Y on August 15, 2020 at 2:12 am

I agree with spending a little more to get quality that will last. A company that I love and I’m not associated with in anyway is Rada, they sell the very best knives and kitchen tools that are the best. They are made in the USA and are very cheap cost wise but not in quality! I have an expensive set of knives but always go for my Rada knives first. I tell everyone about them and when I’m invited to a wedding I buy a set of these knives for a gift along with a few other items.
    I should get a job with them😉

  39. Lorrie on August 15, 2020 at 2:15 am

I ordered the tongs. Curse you, dear Flo! I had to take the scoop out of the cart… $

UGH!!! Dude accidentally uploaded a 1980s quality version of the video and we didn’t realize until just now. In our efforts to bring you videos on time, things happen. Sorry! I will still read and respond to your comments from the other video. Enjoy the 4k version. Appreciate your understanding. ❤️

  48. 3d Lovely on August 15, 2020 at 2:25 am

I just ordered the veggie peeler. I do like my Rada, but yours looks so much better! I got peeler envy!! As far as tdmr’s comment, I would like to see that person make videos. I think your videos are wonderful. I see nothing wrong with any of them. It is like a friend is explaining everything to me and I truly enjoy each and every one of them. Thank you and thank Dude!
