I think the original tile looked WAY better than that subway crap. At least it had a pretty design and a little color. The subway tiles look so institutional…very cold and UGLY, plus, cleaning the grout is a pain in the a…..

You talk too much without offering information. Seems you desire to convey how much you know; and how little everyone knows.
At 66yo, I’ve owned dozens of SFD’s, rental and personal family homes. Most of your words and the manner in which you convey them, insults individuals average intelligence. Look, common sense dictates each and every REMO scenario. Me thinks you are not monetized.

2 Questions. Why do you remove the doors for the Primer and you install the doors back for the final color coat? Also did you do 2 final coats?

  30. Classy Lady on July 7, 2020 at 4:22 pm

    That backsplash is beautiful

  36. kim kassala on July 7, 2020 at 4:30 pm

Great video!! I’m following your advice and installing subway tiles over my current backsplash. I have 2 questions please; 1)-where can I find the tile cutter that you have? There are so many and they all seem a bit large and complicated. Where can I find a basic one like the one you’re using here… and 2)-Where did you find the metal pieces to border the tile that went up the left side of the wall near the microwave? I currently have a wooden cap similar to a baseboard look, do I just pry that off?
Thanks in advance for your input 🙂

Hey Jeff, this is a really awesome new look to the kitchen of refurbishment/remodelling an old one. Just what I needed to watch because I want to do the same to my 22 year old kitchen with solid oak doors similar to your project. The new look is a fresh and contemporary one. Beautiful and thanks for making these videos and giving free information and value.

  38. granifulano Roth on July 7, 2020 at 4:35 pm

  45. garry kimovich on July 7, 2020 at 4:41 pm

Tile over tile seems deceptive when trying to sell a house. At least I know to look for those aluminum borders now.
